Tim co-founded the Eden Project, a £140 million visitor attraction and environmental initiative in Cornwall, UK. To date, there have been 16 million visitors since the project's opening, and it has contributed more than £1 billion to the regional economy. Tim Smit has been appointed an honorary Knight by Her Majesty the Queen in recognition of his services to public engagement with science.
